Block paving cleaning and re-sanding

Block paving deep cleaned, treated to slow moss and weeds coming back, then re-sanded with fresh kiln-dried sand once it's dry. From £180, with treatment and re-sanding included.

How we restore block paving

  1. Inspect. We check for staining, moss, weeds and any loose or damaged blocks, and tell you about them before starting.
  2. Deep clean. A rotary surface cleaner lifts dirt, moss and algae from the blocks and the joints without striping.
  3. Treat. A biocide goes down to kill remaining spores and slow regrowth.
  4. Re-sand. Once fully dry, fresh kiln-dried sand is brushed into every joint.

Why re-sanding matters

The sand in the joints locks the blocks together. Washing removes it, and leaving joints empty lets blocks shift and gives weeds an easy place to root. Fresh kiln-dried sand:

Prices

Minimum charge £180, which includes the biocide treatment and re-sanding. The final price depends on the area, how much moss and weed growth there is, how much sand the joints need and access.

Questions

Do you always re-sand?

Yes. Cleaning takes out the old jointing sand, so every block paving job is re-sanded with kiln-dried sand once the paving is fully dry.

Will the weeds come back?

Eventually. The biocide treatment and fresh sand slow regrowth noticeably, but no treatment stops weeds for good.

When can I use the driveway?

You can walk and drive on it after cleaning. Keep traffic light until the re-sand is done, which may be on a second dry day.

Can very old block paving be restored?

Usually, yes. Faded or worn blocks won't look new, but most old driveways look dramatically better.
